Parenting Workshop: Keeping Our Children Safe
This psycho-educational workshop focuses on understanding the facts and implementing practical strategies designed to reduce the likelihood of child victimization. Participants are encouraged to ask questions and share experiences within the interactive and supportive environment. This workshop is appropriate for parents of infants as well as teens. For many parents, this is the first step towards acknowledging and accepting risk and deciding to do something about it.

Adolescent Safety Workshop
As our children reach adolescence they tend to resist parental nurturing. Our ability to provide direct protection is lessened as they seek autonomy. This workshop teaches our children not only how to recognize threats but how to avoid them. Unfortunately, threats can not always be avoided. I arm teens with the knowledge of what to do when a threat is posed. This workshop is a healthy place for adolescents to voice their opinions, share their thoughts, and admit to their fears. I try to minimize the teens likelihood to isolate and remain secretive because they feel that 'there is no one I can talk to'. In this workshop we promote communication and accountability.

Significant Other Workshop
When an individual sexually offends against a victim, it impacts everyone. A mother finds out that her son sexually abused a child, a wife finds out that her husband has arousal to children, a woman finds out that her brother has been exposing himself for many years or a fiancée finds out that her husband to be is on the national sex offender registry.
These examples share one common thread. The impact of sexual abuse affects everyone in the life of an offender. While the sexual offender will often be mandated to complete treatment, his wife or sister or mother NEEDS support as well.
This group educates significant others to the process of accountability, denial and fear, the deviant cycle, arousal normative and deviant and relapse prevention. The successful completion of this program will qualify the participant to become a "chaperone" or "supervisor" for the Offender in the community. This program complies with sex Offender Management Board requirements.
